I used to offer 12 week marathon plans however, most people coming to these hadn’t followed the advice given prior to starting the plan. They hadn’t built up the long run distance and/or fitness enough for us to take a sensible approach to reach their marathon target time. I would rather miss out on the opportunity to work with someone than deliver a service that isn’t in their best interest.

These are regularly highlighted by clients as one of the most useful parts of the training plan experience. Before your call, I analyse your last 4 weeks of training, looking at paces and progress, consistency in training, and numerous other stats. From here we can agree any changes, or I can offer assurance that you’re on the right track and in a good position for marathon success.

Unlike most training plans from other coaches, I don’t just send you on your way with a plan that could be inappropriate within weeks. There’s regular support, and a truly personalised plan. No cookie-cutter plans or sessions. I also have a great track record of success with my clients seeing a success rate of 85% achieving a PB, with an average improvement of nearly minutes.

Although the price may be higher than some, I’ve seen coaches charging 25% more than I do whilst offering less support.

I’m happy to answer some questions around the calls. There is of course a limit to this otherwise it starts shifting towards my coaching packages. If you’d like more support after a period, we can switch to a coaching package, or book an additional session in person or online for a small fee.

Absolutely! This is something I’m very passionate about, and which most training plan providers pay little attention to. Getting your fuelling strategy and carb load right can make an enormous difference to how well your perform in training and racing. We cover it in a degree of depth in all training plans, but I’ve also written a 60-page “Nutrition for marathon runners” e-book which can be purchased for £5, or you can book a 30 to 60 minute nutrition session with me if you prefer.

This is where your Runner’s MOT comes into play. The strength and mobility work we set is dependent on your needs. Again, there’s no generic workout or weekly routine, since that could actually create injuries. By personalising the workouts around your needs and the those of your body, we find the right balance to work for you.
